Fabindia falls into the trouble again, sued for 525 crores for selling FAKE Khadi


The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), an autonomous body under the Union ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises, which promotes the traditional homespun cotton identified with Mahatma Gandhi, issued the notice on against Fabindia on 29th January. Fabindia is a Rs 1,000-crore homegrown lifestyle brand better known for ethnic wear.

The KVIC has claimed that Fabindia was misleading consumers by selling factory-made cotton garments as Khadi. The legal notice issued is seeking damages of Rs. 525 crore from Fabindia for their illegal use of the registered trademark “Khadi”.
