Kangana is currently holidaying in Himachal Pradesh with her family and is expected to head home soon to resume the shoot. Previously, rumour mills were abuzz claiming that the film may be shelved because of budget constraints, but Kangana was quick to dismiss these reports.

TV actress Ankita Lokhande will be making her Bollywood debut alongside Kangana Ranaut in her upcoming film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. Based on the life of the freedom fighter Rani Laxmibai, the trailer of the film has been widely appreciated for its visuals and is also one of the most looked upon movie next year. Ankita Lokhande plays the role of Jhalkari Bai, a fierce woman warrior who used to disguise as Rani Laxmibai and fight with the enemies.
The makers of the film have revealed the first look of Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkari Bai from the film. One can say that the actress is looking apt for the role she has been roped in, triggering the notions of a ferocious woman warrior. The historical character played a prominent role in Rani Laxmibai’s army and eventually rose to the position of an advisor to the Queen.
Ankita has reportedly worked hard for the role. She has trained herself in horse-riding and sword fighting for 30 to 35 days under Hollywood action director, Nick Powell. The film which also stars Jisshu Sengupta and Atul Kulkarni is slated to release on January 25, 2019.
Nick Powell reportedly stated said that Kangana insisted on doing all the action stunts by herself and he is mighty impressed with her dedication. Kangana apparently practised sword fighting for eight hours a day, and convincingly pulled off each stunt. The action director also added that he has worked with actors like Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt but Kangana reportedly gave him an unique experience where an actress was leading the pack. He also stated that there were times when she pulled off smoother stunts than Tom Cruise.
‘Manikarniaka-The Queen Of Jhansi’ is slated to hit the theatres on January 25, 2019.
The film is in the post-production phase now, however, all the actors are worried about their roles in the film. An actor who shot for 40 days doesn’t know how much of his portion will be incorporated in the movie. However, the actor added that everyone is asked to be tight-lipped about the same and all they can do is pray.
Meanwhile, the film is all set to hit the theatres on January 25 2019.
Meanwhile, the film is all set to hit the theatres on January 25, 2019. The film will lock horns with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Super 30’.
The report further stated that the ‘Queen’ star has directed almost 90-95 per cent of the film’s drama-scenes in the 45-day shoot and has no interest to take the director’s credit. However, after Krish informed about his unavailability, the makers approached Kangana for the same and it seems she needs to take out some time to edit the film.
Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi’ has been in the headlines ever since the film was announced. The film was majorly in news recently after Kangana took over the baton of direction from Krish earlier this year following creative differences.
Now, a picture of Kangana bidding her farewell to her little Prince, her onscreen son – Damodar Rao, on his last day of the shoot has been doing rounds. The real name of the child actor is Aarav. For the celebration, the kid got a cake for his reel mother Kangana with “Aarav Wrapup” written on it. In the picture, the actress can be seen in the Queen attire while she feeds the cake to the child.
‘Manikarnika’ also stars Ankita Lokhande, Zeeshan Ayyub, Jisshu Sengupta and more. The film is all set to hit the theatres on 25th January 2019. The film’s release will clash with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Super 30’.
According to the reports, the constant delay in the production and reshoots, the budget of the film which was earlier said to be Rs 60 crore, has now shot up to Rs 125 crore.
The film is expected to feature many aspects of the queen’s life including her childhood, her marriage, her children and her as the fierce and intelligent warrior. However, some of these aspects haven’t been touched upon and hence the scenes are being reshot. The schedule is said to be as long as 45 days, followed by which, the additional cost added to the film has been extended by almost Rs. 20 crores.
Reportedly, with the additional Rs. 20 crore now being sanctioned for reshooting and including the P&A [Print and Advertising], it is now being said that it has come up to Rs. 125 crore.
Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting her next royal film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and the shooting pictures are already making us eager for this one. The ‘Queen’ of Bollywood has learnt horse-riding for the film in which she plays Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi. In a few behind the scene stills from the sets of the film, Kangana can be seen seated on a white horse while being dressed in a white sari and royal jewellery with her tresses flying behind her as she races ahead. The film will probably have a lot of special effects as the scene was also shot with the same purpose.
“Sonu, who is currently working on Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’, was recently asked to reshoot portions for Manikarnika by co-star Kangana Ranaut. With a change in the team, the script and the roles too have undergone changes at the very last minute. Sonu, who is currently sporting a beard for ‘Simmba’, was been asked to clean shave for his role in ‘Manikarnika’. While the actor was open to shooting a few scenes for the film and work around the clock to accommodate this request, he suggested filming the portions that required him to be clean shaved post his ‘Simmba’ schedule,” source explained.
